Known as one of the best political journalists covering Washington, Amy Walter is national editor of the non-partisan The Cook Political Report and a frequent on-air analyst. In addition to her weekly appearance on the popular “Politics Monday” segment on the PBS NewsHour, Amy also hosts WNYC’s nationally-syndicated public radio news program, “Politics with Amy Walter” on The Takeaway. She is a regular Sunday panelist on NBC’s Meet the Press and CBS’ Face The Nation, and appears frequently on Special Report with Bret Baier on Fox News.

SPECIAL GUEST | U.S. Senator John Barrasso R-WY
Chairman of the U.S. Senate Environment and Public Works Committee

Senator John Barrasso was sworn in to the United States Senate in 2007 having represented the people of Natrona County in the Wyoming State Senate from 2003-2007. In November 2018, Barrasso was reelected to the U.S. Senate with more than 67% of the vote. He is the third-ranking member in the Senate Republican leadership as Chairman of the Senate Republican Conference. He serves on committees that directly impact Wyoming’s economy, energy interests, public lands, national parks and trade. In addition to other committee assignments, Barrasso is the chairman of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee. Senator Barrasso is known by many as Wyoming’s Doctor. During his 24 years as an orthopedic surgeon, Barrasso served as President of the Wyoming Medical Society and was named Wyoming Physician of the Year.

Mr. Kudlow leads the coordination of President Donald J. Trump’s domestic and global economic policy agenda. Prior to the White House, Mr. Kudlow was a CNBC Senior Contributor and host of CNBC’s primetime show “The Kudlow Report.” He also served as chief economist and senior managing director of Bear Stearns & Company.

At age 18, Jeff Struecker enlisted in the United States Army as an Infantryman and retired as a Chaplain with over 22 years of active federal service. In 2017, he was inducted into the US Army Ranger Hall of Fame. His combat experience includes participation in the invasion of Panama, Operation Desert Storm, Black Hawk Down in Somalia, and more than a dozen combat tours in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Environmental Regulations Overview

Andrew Wheeler
Administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency

On February 28, 2019, the U.S. Senate confirmed Andrew Wheeler as the fifteenth Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency.  Mr. Wheeler had previously been confirmed by the U.S. Senate as the EPA Deputy Administrator on April 12, 2018.

Mr. Wheeler has dedicated his career to advancing sound environmental policies. He began his career during the George H.W. Bush Administration as a Special Assistant in EPA’s Pollution Prevention and Toxics office. He was a Principal and the team leader of the Energy and Environment Practice Group at FaegreBD Consulting. He also served as the Co-chair of the Energy and Natural Resources Industry team across the entire firm. Prior to his work with the firm, Mr. Wheeler served for six years as the Majority Staff Director and Chief Counsel, as well as the Minority Staff Director, of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works. Before his time at the full Senate EPW Committee, Mr. Wheeler served in a similar capacity for six years for the Subcommittee on Clean Air, Climate Change, Wetlands and Nuclear Safety. Mr. Wheeler is the past Chairman of the National Energy Resource Organization (NERO).

Chairman Neil Chatterjee was nominated to the Federal Energy Regulatory
Commission in May 2017 and confirmed by the U.S. Senate in August 2017. He served as Chairman from August 2017 to December 2017, and was again named Chairman on October 24, 2018. Prior to joining the Commission, he was energy policy advisor to U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY).

Mr. Book will share his views on how Washington interprets the ongoing political debate surrounding oil and natural gas, hydraulic fracturing and the evolving environmental discussion from a U.S. perspective. At a time when the U.S. oil and natural gas production is leading the world rankings, Book will delve into the question of how the politicians’ and more importantly, the mainstream voters’, view on how the foundation of our energy mix (oil and natural gas) is changing and identifying some of the major political, regulatory and geopolitical challenges ahead for the industry.

Kevin Book heads the research team at ClearView Energy Partners, LLC, an independent firm headquartered in Washington, D.C. that serves institutional investors and corporate strategists. In his analytical capacity, Mr. Book covers economic and policy trends in oil, natural gas, coal and refined products. Outside the office, he appears frequently in print and broadcast media, participates in government and private-sector policy forums and meets with top Washington decision-makers. He has also testified before several House and Senate Committees. Mr. Book is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the National Petroleum Council.
