IPAA and RegScan Launch New Product for Oil and Gas Drillers

The Independent Petroleum Association of America and RegScan, Inc., a Williamsport-based company, proudly announce the launch of the IPAA Environmental Compliance System – PA.

You can view the compliance system website at http://ipaa.regscan.com.

The IPAA Environmental Compliance System, powered by RegScan Socrates, is a unique, timeline-driven compliance system outlining regulatory requirements throughout the life cycle of a well. Four major topics are covered, including:

  • Pre-Drilling
  • Drilling and Completion
  • Well Production and Operation
  • Well Plugging and Abandonment

The comprehensive guide contains all the regulatory requirements – fully integrated with fillable forms, encrypted document storage, permit applications, guidance documents, AND audit checklists. Through the Socrates project management platform, managers can assign and monitor tasks right from their desktops.

“We are extremely excited about our alliance with IPAA,” said Ned Ertel, President and C.E.O. of RegScan, Inc. “Through this partnership, we can deliver a customized product directly to the people who need it most.”

“Energy regulations grow more complex every single day, and IPAA has an obligation to help its members meet their compliance needs,” said Barry Russell, IPAA President and C.E.O. “With expert tools like the IPAA Environmental Compliance System – PA, we can assist them with that daunting task.”

The IPAA Environmental Compliance System includes the entire Socrates project management suite, complete with the Audit Applicability feature for uploading customized procedures and checklists. The online system gives users instant access to regulations, statutes, forms, and Environmental, Health and Safety guidance – along with exclusive alert tools like Socrates Watch and Lookout.

To develop this cutting-edge product, IPAA and RegScan worked with industry-leading consultants Jim Collins, P.E. and Jim Erb, P.E. Mr. Erb is the former director of the Pennsylvania Bureau of Oil and Gas Management, and Mr. Collins has decades of operational experience behind him. Their wealth of insider knowledge provides unique insight into the drilling process.

IPAA is the national trade association representing oil and natural gas producers that drill 95 percent of the nation’s oil and natural gas wells. These companies account for 68 percent of America’s oil production and 82 percent of its natural gas production.
