Mar 1, 2017 IPAA Congratulates Congressman Ryan Zinke on Senate Confirmation as Interior Secretary
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Independent Petroleum Association of America (IPAA) congratulates Montana Congressman Ryan Zinke on his bipartisan U.S. Senate confirmation as the Secretary of the Interior. IPAA President and CEO Barry Russell issued the following statement:
“IPAA congratulates Congressman Ryan Zinke on his confirmation as the next United States Secretary of the Interior. As the nation’s largest landlord and strongest advocate for our public lands and natural resources, the head of the Interior Department plays a critical role in ensuring a fair and balanced approach to both energy development and conservation. While often pitted against each other over the last eight years, these efforts to support the economy and protect our environment work hand in hand every day across the country.
“As a conservationist from a western energy-producing state, Congressman Zinke appreciates the need to manage our nation’s lands and waters while implementing multiple use policies that enable a variety of activities from conservation and recreation to job development and energy production. IPAA congratulates Congressman Zinke and looks forward to continuing to work with him in his new role as Secretary of the Department of the Interior.”
