This course addresses the relationship between oil and gas operations and stated financial results. Attendees will learn about activities that generate revenues and costs, how leasing and joint operations impact the sharing of those revenues and costs, and how key revenues, costs, assets and liabilities are reflected in the financial statements.

This course is not just for accountants! An understanding of the link between operational activities and financial results can be useful across an organization in improving employee understanding of management financial goals. However, this is not a light course and is information packed, so is best for those who have a genuine interest in the subject matter.

Following are the course topics:

    1. Financial Introduction
    2. Revenue: Oil and Gas Products and Product Marketing
    3. Exploration, Exploration Costs and Unconventional Development
    4. Commercial Terms: Mineral Rights and Leasing
    5. Joint Operations: Operated vs. Non-Operated
    6. Drilling and Completion and Treatment of Costs
    7. Development and Production Operations and Costs
