Sarah McLean, Partner, Oil & Gas Transactions, Shearman & Sterling
Sarah McLean has over 20 years of experience as a trusted advisor to private equity funds and management teams focused on the energy sector. She has represented them in connection with portfolio company investments, acquisitions and divestitures of upstream and midstream oil and gas assets and companies, formations of joint ventures, and various private equity transactions, project documents and operating agreements across the entire oil & gas value chain. She received a B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, with honors, from Oklahoma State University and a J.D., with honors, from The University of Texas School of Law.

Alan Goudiss, Partner, Corporate Governance, Shearman & Sterling
Alan Goudiss’s practice includes a wide range of commercial, securities, corporate governance, and mergers and acquisitions litigation and advice. He received a B.S.F.S. from Georgetown University, School of Foreign Services and a J.D. from Emory University School of Law.

 

 

Steve Pully, Corporate Board Member and Strategic Advisor
Steve Pully has served on twenty-six public and private company boards, including several boards where he was appointed as an independent director shortly before an out-of-court restructuring or bankruptcy. Thirteen of the boards on which Mr. Pully has served have been for upstream oil and gas companies. Mr. Pully is also a Co-Founder of Speyside Partners, which provides strategic advisory and restructuring services for energy companies. He also serves as an expert witness, primarily in connection with governance and restructuring issues. He formerly worked at two different hedge funds and also worked as an energy investment banker for major investment banks after several years of practicing law at a large Houston-based law firm. Mr. Pully received a BSBA in Accounting from Georgetown University and a J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law. In addition to being licensed as an attorney in the State of Texas, he is a CFA charterholder and a CPA.

Ben Sullivan, Executive Vice President & General Counsel, Diversified Gas & Oil PLC
Mr. Sullivan joined Diversified Gas & Oil in 2019 with oversight of the company’s legal, land/real estate, and governmental affairs functions and works with the CEO and board on governance matters. Prior to joining Diversified, Ben worked with Greylock Energy (an ArcLight Capital Partners portfolio company with extensive national holdings) and its predecessor (Energy Corporation of America) as Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary with supervision of many business units. Prior to Ben’s tenure at Greylock Energy, he worked as counsel for EQT Corporation as well as with a private law firm. He is a member of the leadership and Board of Directors of several commerce, legal, and industry groups, and has considerable experience in corporate governance and reporting / ESG, complex commercial transactions, land/real estate, acquisitions & divestitures, financing, government investigations, and corporate workouts and restructurings. Mr. Sullivan graduated from the University of Kentucky with a B.A. degree in History and received a J.D. degree from the West Virginia University College of Law. He holds licenses to practice law in several States, including Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
