EIA Report Shows “Responsibly Produced Natural Gas and Oil Will Be Part of the World’s Energy Mix for Decades to Come”

Today, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) released its International Energy Outlook 2021. In the report, EIA projects oil and natural gas production and consumption will continue to grow through 2050. In EIA’s reference case,  oil and natural gas still represent roughly 50% of global primary energy consumption in 2050. The following statement can be attributed to Jeff Eshelman, Chief Operating Office of the Independent Petroleum Association of America (IPAA).
