Edith is the president and chief executive officer of the Independent Petroleum Association of America. Founded in 1929, IPAA is the national trade association representing the 6,000 independent, U.S. companies that drill 90 percent of America’s oil and natural gas wells.
Prior to joining IPAA, Naegele served as Vice President, Membership and Strategic Development of the American Gas Association (AGA). AGA represents more than 200 local energy companies committed to the safe and reliable delivery of natural gas to more than 79 million customers throughout the nation. Under Naegele’s leadership, AGA greatly expanded their outreach to the financial community and helped position gas utilities in global markets with investors. Naegele overhauled member engagement and member communications to strengthen the voice of the gas utilities in Washington.
Reflecting her dedication to business, jobs, and innovation, she worked for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce defending business in Washington and in the states and in the court of public opinion for nearly twenty years.
Naegele holds a Master of Arts from The George Washington University’s Elliot School of International Affairs, and Bachelors of Arts from the University of Oregon.
