In December, IPAA/PESA Petroleum Academy sophomores, juniors and seniors from Southwest High School traveled to Texas A&M for the annual Spark Conference which is an engineering design competition with a strict focus on inspiring students to explore the field of engineering. The students spent an entire day where they were placed on teams with students from other schools based on their interests.  The on-site competitions were developed through partnerships with Texas A&M engineering societies and will feature a variety of engineering design challenges.
