Southwest High School Students Visit University of Texas at Arlington

Sophomores in the IPAA/PESA Petroleum Academy at Southwest High School toured the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) in March.  Our academy students visit included a tour through the UTA’s Engineering Building. They saw firsthand how the department stands out with a 3D printer and various research areas.  They were also treated to the UTA students’ passion for recycling and their Racing Formula SAE team.  The UTA students also graciously shared their ideas on their next race car design.  The academy students reflected on how the college tour was extremely helpful to receive up-close and personal knowledge of what college life looks like, even this early in their education.
