Jun 26, 2018 IPAA/PESA 2018 Teacher of the Year
Mrs. Laurie Schlaudt, the lead teacher at the Petroleum Academy at Westside High School in Houston, was selected as the 2018 IPAA/PESA Teacher of the Year. The purpose of the award is to recognize outstanding Academy campus personnel who demonstrate excellence and a commitment to the Academy program on their campus.
Mrs. Schlaudt has been involved with the IPAA/PESA program for five years, and her engineering and teaching background have been a true asset to her students and the program. Mrs. Schlaudt has coached winning teams in the 2016 and 2017 Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement Technology Challenges and the 2018 Offshore Technology Conference Energy Challenge.
Westside High School and the IPAA/PESA Energy Education Center are truly fortunate to have such an outstanding Petroleum Academy lead teacher. We congratulate Mrs. Schlaudt and thank all the amazing educators that we are honored to have involved in our program.
