2019 Houston Posse Awards

For 30 years, The Posse Foundation has identified, recruited and trained young people from diverse backgrounds with extraordinary potential who might otherwise be missed by elite schools. The program places scholars in supportive, multicultural groups of 10 students – Posses. With mentoring and full-tuition leadership scholarships from partnering colleges, Posse Scholars graduate at a rate of 90 percent. As alumni, they are well prepared and positioned for success. Together with the nation’s top institutions of higher education, Posse is building a powerful new leadership network — one that better represents the voices of all Americans.

The IPAA/PESA Energy Education Center is pleased to announce that several petroleum academy students have been awarded full scholarships through the Posse Foundation:

Kaylyn Steward – Young Women’s College Preparatory Academy – Bryn Mawr College

Naizeth Leal – Young Women’s College Preparatory Academy – Texas A & M University

Casey Calixto – Young Women’s College Preparatory Academy – University of Virginia

Anastacia Castro – Westside High School – Wellesley College
