Short Run Summary
The IPAA Supply and Demand Committee Report has been considered one of the most respected short-term petroleum forecasts in the nation. Since 1936, the committee has been the only group with representatives from various sectors of the U.S. petroleum industry that meets regularly to publish a consensus forecast - not just an average of the individual estimates. This report has a 1-1/2 year time frame, and forecasts U.S. supply and demand for petroleum products and natural gas on a quarterly basis. It also includes projections for other energy sources and general macroeconomic conditions. A popular source for the news media, it is issued in April and October.

Long Run Summary
The IPAA Supply and Demand Committee established such a reputable track record for its short-run forecast that there were many requests for the committee to also focus its expertise on a long-run forecast. IPAA now issues an industry forecast in natural gas, as well as macroeconomic and energy projections. Both the short-run and long-run forecasts include detailed tables, graphs, and analysis that compare future projections with historical trends. The IPAA committee includes the top economists, planners, and analysts in their respective fields. It is issued every March.
