IPAA International Brochure
The Independent Petroleum Association of America
Mission Statement:
The Independent Petroleum Association of America ("IPAA") is a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring a strong, viable U.S. oil and gas industry. The IPAA represents almost 5,000 independent oil and gas producers in the United States.
Statement of International Interest:
Today, many U.S. independents already are engaged in international oil and gas activities and continue to search for new opportunities globally. IPAA member companies are currently active in over 100 countries; many of these companies have had active international programs for over 10 years. Every year more independents decide to enter the international arena, although many lack the experience and contacts. The International Committee of IPAA acts as a liaison and source of information for these companies and is uniquely positioned to bring the right parties together at the right time. WHO IS THE IPAA?
IPAA members:
- Drill 85% of the oil and gas wells drilled annually in the U.S.
- Produce 66% of the annual U.S. natural gas production - over 12 TCF per year
- Produce 40% of the annual U.S. crude oil production - over 2.4 million barrels per day
- Participate in E & P ventures in over 100 countries on six continents
Advantages of working with Independent E & P operators:
- Low cost operators with special expertise in mature fields
- Access to senior management for rapid decision making
- Experience with state-of-the-art exploration and production technologies
(3-D Seismic, Horizontal Drilling, Coiled Tubing Completions, etc.)- Extensive experience with enhanced oil recovery projects
What Can The Ipaa Do For You?
The IPAA:
- Sponsors many networking opportunities for the upstream sector, including the premier event in the world for reaching the upstream decision makers, the International Forum at NAPE, biannual membership meetings and two financial symposiums, held in New York and London. .
- Acts as a liaison between U.S. independent oil and gas companies and foreign governments, foreign partners, and National oil companies.
- Assists foreign government representatives and international organizations in establishing guidelines and regulations regarding fiscal, contractual, environmental, and safety issues.
- Builds alliances between industry and non-industry groups that share a similar stake in international legislative and regulatory issues.
