HISD Volunteers In Public Schools  (VIPS)

The IPAA Education Center received this outstanding community partnership award recognizing an educational partnership involving a non-profit or service organization that has demonstrated a positive impact on student achievement. 

Mayor’s Proud Partner Award

Presented to IPAA for the 2008, Milby High School Beautification project. This award acknowledges an organization that is dedicated to creating a cleaner and healthier environment for the city of Houston. This project included 150 petroleum academy volunteers, who spent 5 days landscaping and power-washing the front of this historical Houston high school landmark. This project was made possible by a $15,000 donation from Chevron Corporation.

Wildcatter Fund

For the past three years, proceeds from the Wildcatters Ball has provided support for our petroleum academies and other educational outreach programs around the country. This fund acknowledges educational programs that promote a better understanding of energy issues, highlight the significant contributions of America’s oil and natural gas industry to our economy and way of life and serves to educate, encourage and develop our nations next generation of energy industry leaders.
