Diemer True

Diemer True joined the family business in 1968 after graduating from Northwestern University. True worked variously as an oil field roustabout, roughneck, ranch hand, oil scout, land man, and field truck supervisor before becoming a partner in 1972. The True companies are involved in oil and gas exploration, development (True Oil Company); marketing (Eighty-Eight Oil Company); transportation (Belle Fourche Pipeline and Black Hills Trucking); oil field and tubular sales (Toolpushers Supply Co.); and oil and gas drilling (True Drilling LLC); as well as agriculture (True Ranches) and financial services (Hilltop National Bank). True was chairman of the Wyoming State Republican Party from 1992 to 1996. He also served four years in the Wyoming State House of Representatives and 16 years in the Wyoming State Senate, retiring as Senate president.

True was chairman of Independent Petroleum Association of America (IPAA) from 2001 through 2003 and has served as chairman of IPAA's Land and Royalty Committee. True also serves as vice chairman of BIPAC and has long been active in the Petroleum Association of Wyoming and other trade associations.

He and his wife, Susie, have four children and 14 grandchildren.
