“Study Finds That Every ‘Green Job’ Created In Spain Resulted In 2.2 Other Jobs Being Destroyed”

This morning I was passed a Western Business Roundtable release with the subject line above.  Referring to a study prepared under the direction of Dr. Gabriel Calzada, an economics professor at Juan Carlos University in Madrid, the release caught my attention and had me concerned- after all, green jobs are right around the corner.  On second thought though, I decided since they’ve already made those mistakes, there’s just no way we come close to repeating them.  Surely the U.S. government, even at its most bureaucratic, can build a green workforce without taking out more jobs than it creates.  Then I read the summary points of the study – not good – lots of needles to my optimism: Continue reading
